Specific Job Summary



 

The Senior System Analyst supports the Director of IT, Marketing Services. This key technical resource role is responsible for systems applications analysis, design, development and implementation for specified MVW systems, as well as managing construction and maintenance components of the environment, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of the data for all Marketing Services requests. Provide centralized control for all Marketing Services related processing across the enterprise, as well as, Quality Management activities for Marketing Database related processes.



 

This role provides technical leadership for IT Marketing Services team. This individual will be required to perform code reviews and provide direction to junior developers to ensure code functions as expected and is aligned with standards. This individual will be expected to lead projects and provide accurate status to management; and perform the role of lead analyst to design, develop and implement for MVW Marketing Services Environment. The individual will be required to establish and maintain processes and work effectively with other groups to resolve technical issues, manage escalated schedule impacts, and communicate with management effectively. In addition, will train/mentor development staff; engages with IT Directors on projects.

Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities)



 

Key Accountabilities:



 

  • Manages MVW Marketing Services process, including, planning, coordinating, implementing and executing project and work requests.
  • Serves as, technical leader for MVW Marketing Services in day to day operations, including best practices, quality, standards and development, resulting in overall improved quality and increased productivity.
  • Monitors and ensures the consistent availability and integrity for all MVW Marketing Services production processes.
  • Partners across functional teams to ensure internal systems capabilities are aligned.
  • Collaborates with teams across MVW Applications and Third Parties in build out and support of the MVW Marketing Services environment.
  • Considers the subject matter expert for MVW Marketing Services environment and processes.
  • Explores and identifies emerging technologies and communicate as appropriate.
  • Provides advanced support and troubleshooting for production incidents and recommends solutions to avoid future incidents.
  • Partners with application developers to define requirements, design and implement data models, data acquisition and data access to support data analysis and campaigns for MVW Marketing Services.
  • Designs and implements ETL solutions to process terabytes of data.
  • Develops complex database access solutions including complex hierarchical and multidimensional queries to support high volume data analysis and reporting.
  • Analyzes and optimizes MVW Marketing Services solution to improve performance and availability.
  • Ensures that code and documentation are properly catalogued into the version management system.
  • Ensures adherence to defined change management process.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to standards e.g.: ETL naming, coding/mapping and development documentation standards.
  • Requires ability and willingness to manage multiple projects at one time and be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Requires ability to manage internal and external team members to deliver on time and on budget committed results to customers.
  • Provides timely and accurate status updates to management.
  • Maintains lines of communication across business and IT.
  • Assumes the on-call support function.
  • Influences and consults with senior leadership and project teams.
  • Provides guidance and establishes standards that are consistent with the company future direction.
  • Provides support during production incidents to reduce outage.
  • Train and develop staff on trouble shooting and incident resolution.
  • Reviews requirements and transforms them into technical specifications for other developers.
  • Reviews other developers' work products to ensure that business needs are being met and that standards have been adhered to.
  • Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues; develop and execute plans to ensure data consistency and integrity, create data extracts and data fixes, as needed
  • Provides technical leadership on projects and new development efforts.
  • Accurately communicate time and cost estimates of work to management.
  • Provides support for disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Demonstrates ability to accept personal accountability and ownership for areas of responsibility. Pursue solutions and make decisions.

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:



 

Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Education



 

  • Required: 7+ years' experience in the industry.
  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree in computer science.


 

Experience



 

Required:



 

  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience in all required skills mentioned below.
  • Proven ability to effectively direct a high-performance development team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of MVW business and processes.


 

Skills/Attributes



 

Required:



 

  • Expert knowledge of UNIX, Shell Scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, Data Warehousing and Marketing Database methodologies eg: Standard Address Hygiene, NCOA, Address Correction, etc.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.


 

Preferred:



 

  • Data Modeling experience, specifically in relation to a Marketing Database.
  • Proficient in the use of BMC Control-M to build and schedule jobs.
  • Prior experience using Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift for Data Warehousing.
  • Prior experience with Adobe Campaign Management.
  • Preferred documentation skills, specifically in relation to products like Visio, ERWIN, etc.
