Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.

Specific Job Summary

Rental Sales Manager is responsible for Implementing & executing direct sales programs for Transient Leisure/Business segment and Wholesale/Travel industry business.

Building and managing all business partner relationships and communicate relevant & timely information. Ensure that all expectations of the customer are validated, documented and then communicated to the appropriate on-site department(s) to facilitate a successful experience. The Rental Sales Manager is also responsible for ensuring relevant reporting and analyzes are current and results are provided to Senior Leadership.

Generic Expected Contributions

  • Performs the following types of basic tasks: analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, programming, research, report generation, and software integration.
  • Remains knowledgeable for each region the resorts need times to ensure rental opportunities are targeted and available inventory is being optimized.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on standard/routine business requests with limited risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:
    • Utilizing technical knowledge and skills to enhance business processes.

    • Allocating own time effectively to meet goals in a manner that does not disadvantage other associates or groups.
    • Contributing to department/unit budget as appropriate (i.e., input, following guidelines, etc).

  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Execute rental marketing strategy for assigned sites by interfacing with Marriott International in markets where wholesale and travel partner opportunities exist.
  • Develop new and maintain existing villa rental related relationships with in-country distribution channels with emphasis on travel trade, wholesalers and incentives
  • Conduct direct sales calls to key decision makers in assigned markets and territories
  • Attend key travel industry related and target consumer trade shows and conventions in order to promote villa rentals to the travel trade and consumer direct.
  • Develop new promotions with accounts targeted for the utilization of rental inventory
  • Develop new and maintain existing villa rental related relationships with local accommodation drivers (Special Corporate, Local Business group, other group business)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local e-channel managers to affect result positioning on e-channel websites

Generic Candidate Profile 

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows: 

Usually a professional position with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or related experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience.
  • Four year college degree preferred
  • Strong understanding and relationships with key travel trade contacts
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse group of people in person and over the phone
  • Goal oriented and self-motivated with professional demeanor and appearance
  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with various levels of the company
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
