Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives. Responsible for selection, supervision and development of staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.




Specific Job Summary

The Market Director of Finance, HVO Resort Operations F&A, is directly responsible for the Hyatt Vacations brands and all the sites that fall within, as well as other high-priority tasks and functions as appropriate and assigned.  The Director will manage all projects in the brand, as it pertains to the planning, registration, and analysis functions with FP&A – this includes both new and current projects.  The Director will build relationships & contribute to cross-functional teams and drive process improvement projects in the department.  As a primary responsibility of this position, the Director will build and maintain key relationships with critical stakeholders in the Hyatt Vacations brand.



Expected Contributions

  • Develops operating plans and workable business processes for own department in alignment with function strategy.
     
  • Manages larger business processes and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting on the process, progress and results. Typically influences work of cross-functional or extended teams.
     
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk.  Presents alternative solutions to business issues by leveraging the broader organization.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Proactively identifies and providing recommendations designed to maximize operational efficiency and financial returns.
  • Identifies new opportunities for measurement and create valuable tools to monitor and improve these measurements.
  • Drive all NPTM projects in brand from an operations perspective which includes detailed review of financials, presentation to planning team, and transition to delivery.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrates proven knowledge of fundamental metrics of ancillary operations sufficient to extract information necessary to prepare analyses of the financial viability of those operations.
  • Maximizes company revenues and profitability by developing and maintaining reporting tools to assist management in better decision-making and data management for all functions under resort operations (including, but not limited to Resort Operations and Corporate Admin).
  • Presents project results in a complete, efficient manner to upper level management.
  • Identifies issues and support Business Planning efforts via identification of issues and analysis of assumptions and scenarios.  Review Budget and LRP data to determine where issues/potential opportunities may exist.
  • Directs efforts of multi-discipline teams focused on performance improvement by involving building relationships across functions at all levels of management in the organization.
  • Contribute and Analyze  projects with the HVO team
  • Partner with legal to register all new COA projects with specific states
  • Seek out market comparables and competitor analysis to improve all brands support and analysis


Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations and associate management.  College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile

  • BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • At least 7 -10 years experience in finance or accounting (preferably with a concentration in an operations role)
  • Ability to work with people at all levels in an organization and encourage business partnering
  • Demonstrated strong leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills including ability to present complex information in an understandable format to all levels of management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities and reporting units
  • Proven analytic approach to problems; strong financial modeling skills
  • Extremely strong skills in EXCEL and POWERPOINT
  • Proven Knowledge of timeshare/hospitality industry
  • Candidate will have some form of feasibility knowledge, particular in the area of operations, maintenance fees, or timeshare in general
  • Extremely organized
