JOB SUMMARY

This role will be a key leader within the Digital Content and Social Media Team who will be responsible for defining interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications. This role also is responsible for developing for, and communicating scenarios to, business process owners, assuring end-to-end experiences are viable and optimized, creating and defending interaction models, and presenting iterative screen designs to stakeholders at all points in the product development and lifecycle. This role is expected to work closely with our Creative Director or Creative Agency-of-Record, as well as internal and external visual designers, to incorporate the visual identity of Marriott Vacations Worldwide into customer-facing features. A key output from the leader in this role is the development and maintenance of design wireframes, mockups, and specifications as needed.

This role is the execution leader of all customer-facing digital design at MVC. The person in this role will be expected to work closely with internal and third-party resources to maximize / optimize the quantity and quality of our user experiences and interfaces, maintaining the best practices for this field, as well as our brand platform of "Vacation Greatness".

This role manages the details and logistics of all UI/UX projects, including the MVC Blog, Marketing Site Landing Pages, and the Marketing Website overall, in concert with partners in IDS, IT, Brand, and eCommerce. Future projects, such as platform optimization, App development, and integrated e-mail marketing, will be led by this role, or will have a large consultative role to play in these future projects.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • College degree (preferably in Computer Science, Design, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field)
  • Minimum of three years UX/UI design experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong creative thinking skills
  • Ability to develop, lead, and evaluate technical plans -- both those generated by themselves and others.
  • Ability to lead and evaluate creative -- art, copy, and interface design
  • Ability to work with creative people and clients

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Design and develop wireframes for use in MVW applications and sites.
  • Build and design prototypes for internal company use.
  • Responsible for shaping the brand's customer and back-end UX.
  • Design UI for MVW sites, landing pages and e-mails.
  • Maintain MVW's Blog UI and UX
  • Maintain MVW's Blog development and configuration
  • Work with IT Department to ensure MVW Blog is held to IT data security standards.
  • Work with internal and external designers and front-end developers to ensure best practices for UI/UX are implemented and maintained.
  • Maintain database for Blog implementation
  • Detailed knowledge of Web design, with a strong desire to maintain and expand skill sets in this rapidly-changing environment.
  • Experience with mobile design, including responsive, adaptive, and hybrid design fundamentals and best-practices.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Ability to work competently with visualization tools prior the design process -- namely, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Experience Design, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator.
