Position Summary:

Property Accountant position on the Vistana Management handling accounting duties for multiple Resorts and Associations.  This individual will work under the general supervision of the accounting manager or senior accountant.  

Individual will be responsible for maintaining the Resort and HOA (Home Owners Associations) general ledger accounts which includes ensuring revenues and expenses are posted accurately, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews, and ensuring financial statements and reports are in compliance with internal and external policies.  Position requires detail oriented individual who enjoys complex problem solving and  researching analytical variances in a fast paced work environment. The expectation for a person in this position must be able to interpret standard GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).        

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or two to five years of related experience.  Knowledge of Excel electronic spreadsheet applications  is required along with attention to detail.  Hotel/Resort/HOA experience is a plus.

Manage the accounting and reporting of development projects.  Responsible for accurate and timely financial management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of projects. Partner with iDP process team to identify and mitigate project risks to ensure project is completed on time and on budget.  Maintain an environment of strong financial control.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for carrying out accounting and financial tasks with the goal of assuring consistent systems of internal controls, accurate and timely recording of all financial activities, provide cash flows, report and analyze financial results of operations for the assigned business function(s).
  • Create project set-up and coding for capital as well as HOA projects.  Monitor contract and pay application signature process, tracking progress and expediting as necessary, audit and review pay applications for accuracy and completeness of required backup.
  • Prepare and review cash flow forecast and coordinate with project management team.
  • Support audit requests (Mid-year, annual, SOX and project completion) and data compilation as required. 
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and month end journal entries; prepare related balance sheet account reconciliations and all associated JE's; resolve reconciling items within 30 days. 
  • Reporting:  Support preparation of project EAC and Executive Summary reports for monthly review and distribution.  Assist with quarterly open project and purchase order reviews.
