JOB SUMMARY

This role reports to the Chief Finance Executive and is responsible for finance activities for Marketing & Sales (M&S) Operations in the region Asia Pacific Distribution sites. In performing the duties, legal regulations, GAAP as well as operating procedures of Marriott Vacation Club International must be complied with.

Position requires someone with experience in driving process improvements, strong collaboration with other team members and other departments, primarily M&S departments, in ensuring the day to day functions under the Finance Manager's responsibility are operating smoothly and efficiently, excellent spreadsheet skills including financial modelling

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

1. Management of M&S Commission

  • Responsible for the calculation and reviewing of Singapore and other Asia Pacific region's M&S commission for accruals and payouts
  • Act as a liaison with M&S business partners to provide commission-related support and assistance.
  • Prepare schedule for commission accruals and payouts
  • Identify improvement areas in commission process and calculation files which includes standardization and automation
  • Be part of the team in checking and preparing the 2019 commission plan template

2. Reporting

  • Validate monthly reports for accounting close
  • Prepare monthly management reporting pack for Singapore and other Asia Pacific regions
  • Prepare monthly consolidated reports for Asia Pacific regions
  • Provide adequate support in other ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Review for areas of improvement to standardize reports and producing reports in the most efficient manner

3. Forecast Activities

  • Perform forecast calculation for responsible sites
  • Prepare consolidated Asia Pacific forecast file
  • Identify improvement on forecasting process and calculation file

4. Financial Modelling

  • Develop new models when business requires
  • Improve on existing financial models

5. Ad Hoc Support & Requests

  • Perform analyses on an ad hoc basis as required and assist on other finance related works as required by the business

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Degree in Accounting with at least 7 to 8 years of commercial and accounting experience,
  • Proficient MS office skills, in particular advanced MS Excel
  • Experience in a high-growth, rapidly-changing culture. Must be able to work with a strong sense of urgency, both as an individual contributor and as a team player.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
