Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department and monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with broader business objectives, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, and managing own organization through reliable systems and processes.





Specific Job Summary

Responsible for designing and leading efforts across all HR COEs to ensure HR compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory agencies and Company policies. Governs the planning and delivery for all HR compliance-related projects to ensure implementation and transition to ongoing operations. Responsible for creation, review and analysis of compliance reporting, including tracking of priorities and reporting for the Global Selection & Employment subcommittee Legal & Ethical Steering Committee.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Establishes HR compliance strategic objectives in collaboration with HR ELT, LESC requirements, Global Selection & Employment Subcommittee and Legal & Ethical Steering Committee. This includes annual areas of emphasis, risk assessment, projects, review/update of policies, programs and processes, and new legislative requirements that arise.
  • Governs the planning and delivery for all compliance-related projects and ensure that all HR related projects consider compliance requirements.
  • Oversees all HR audit efforts coordinating with internal audit, external auditors, and external agencies to ensure appropriate staffing to deliver audit requirements. Ensures internal audits are scheduled and coordinated in advance to ensure timely support and completion.
  • Oversees the assignment and development of key compliance expertise within HR COEs, business partners and compliance team as appropriate in order to monitor and respond to developments as required.
  • Establishes internal HR audit routines for review of established centralized and decentralized federal, state and local policies, programs, and processes to identify compliance issues and address opportunities in order to mitigate risk.
  • Designs and delivers HR key program and process reporting to monitor compliance issues and address opportunities in order to mitigate risk.
  • Partners with HR ELT, Risk Management, and Law department to ensure that compliance objectives and routines are achieving desired outcomes.
  • Designs and maintains a comprehensive list of pending and changing employment legislation to be addressed.
  • Partners with HR leaders, HR business partners, and other business leaders to implement programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local law requirements.




Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.



Specific Candidate Profile

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Graduate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. 
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred to include CA.
  • Compliance related certifications preferred.

Experience

  • 10-15 years management experience including demonstrated job responsibilities in Human Resources, strategic planning focused on compliance across multiple jurisdictions/businesses, process design and improvement, internal controls and project management.
  • Experience as a generalist in Human Resources or a specialist in one or more of the following areas: Compliance, Associate Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Staffing, Development, Organizational Effectiveness, etc.

  • Strong presentation skills required. 
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and governmental regulatory compliance.
  • High level of skill in managing confidential and sensitive information and data.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the capability to manage and prioritize multiple and conflicting priorities and tasks.
  • Trustworthy with strong business integrity and ability to hold sensitive information in confidence.
