Job Description

To serve food and / or beverage during plated dinners to include the order taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage items. To service guests and / or replenish buffet food items for buffets. To set up rooms / function spaces prior to the events and clean up after the events are done. These tasks have to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Report to work station in proper uniform ready to work and meets grooming standard.
  • Read side work and Banquet Event Order and listen to pre-shift meeting.
  • Insure that all information and expectation for shift are clear.
  • Keep work area net, clean and free of any safety hazards.
  • Serve food and beverages as outlined by Banquet Event Order.
  • Gather and return equipment and supplies from other departments and storage areas, maintaining them in a neat, clean manner.
  • Report service needs, special guest needs or problems to supervisor.
  • Set-up tables, buffets and work station with special attention to décor, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain department policy of having room set 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time of event.
  • Use proper discretion with service of alcoholic beverages; report any possible problems to manager.
  • Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner using positive and clear English communication. Explains any preparations for guest awareness if needed
  • Replenishes beverages as necessary
  • Check with guests for overall satisfaction after several minutes of the food being delivered.
  • Abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Clear up dirty dishes following service sequence
  • Attend and participate positively to daily pre shift meetings and monthly meetings
  • Checks and controls the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality. Keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations
  • Maintain and project a positive attitude.
  • Assist in the controlling of food costs – not over serving bread – condiments etc….
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills, or executing special guest requests.
  • To be responsible for the highest standard of sanitation throughout the entire restaurant when on duty
  • To execute Split Rock Resort and Aston Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures relating to the Food and Beverage Department, thereby ensuring the services provided achieve the established standards of performances within the agreed budgetary controls
  • To maintain honest communication with all support departments
  • QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

    EDUCATION

    Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    EXPERIENCE

    2 to 3 years food and beverage experience required in wait help capacity. Prior hotel and / or restaurant – banquet / catering experience preferred
