Generic Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.

Specific Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, with a dotted line relationship to the Talent Management Centre of Expertise (COE), the Manager, College Recruiting plays a key role in helping shape the organization's future by collaborating with colleagues across the company to consistently identify and attract brilliant students to our team. This role will be constantly challenged to think creatively about how to drive hiring results. The incumbent will be part of a team that is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a broad on campus recruiting strategy, with a particular emphasis on sourcing high quality candidates.

The Manager, College Recruiting will work with business locations to understand and define their hourly and entry level management staffing requirements and to provide subject matter expertise to develop candidate specifications that will meet business needs as appropriate. The incumbent keeps up to date with recruiting methods and maintaining good relationships with local recruiters and colleges, this role will concentrate on all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle. In this role, there will be a need to travel approximately fifty percent of the time.

- identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.

- providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.

- achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Manage and attend all on-campus events for target schools, identifying which events/opportunities best align with current recruiting strategies.
  • Act as a point of contact for business partners; Network with key professors, student organizations and other school stakeholders.
  • Source and manage candidates from career fairs and other on-campus events.
  • Screen and qualify prospective applicants bringing them through the process from applicant to offer.
  • Partner with hiring managers and recruiting teammates to develop and implement sourcing strategies.
  • Help shape and build a robust intern program working with appropriate business partners (i.e., site leaders, Talent Acquisition COE, recruiters, Internal Communications, Learning and Development).
  • Create and maintain clear documentation around outcomes from recruiting events.
  • Responsible for reporting and action planning data insights.
  • Responsible for achieving all assigned metrics.
  • Works to harness the increasing capabilities of technology within in the Recruiting world, with specific emphasis on Social Media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.).
  • Surfaces any recruiting issues at the sites with the potential to escalate to the Center of Excellence, if necessary.
  • Create and foster relationships with all interns during and after the program and continue to follow up with all candidates after the college intern program to source for new interns and solicit feedback about the program.
  • Manage full life cycle recruitment for regional and site specific college, entry level management, and intern hiring requisitions including intake, sourcing, screening, and interviewing applicants.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that drive operating excellence.

Generally, a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Education/Certifications

  • Four-year Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • One (1) to three (3) years of progressive Human Resources/Talent Acquisition experience preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience recruiting in a Hospitality environment and building relationships at nationally ranked universities, preferred.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power point, Visio).
  • Proficiency in using on Social Media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.) technology for recruiting purposes.
